Lucky~

I seem to be lucky this month I've been getting some special treatment from July ^_^ A lot of things... even the little things have been making me feel happier, encouraged, accepted and hopeful. ^_^

Just wanted to share something that made my day this friday:

I ordered a tall coffee jelly drink from Starbucks before going home. I asked the barista if there was a drink that was "slightly" caffeinated, and he said we could make up a "half decaf" drink just for me. HAHAHA! I noticed the barista who was making the drinks prepared the drinks of a regular customer, who came after me, before my order.. When he finally gave me my drink I was surprised~

Look at my "half-decaf" tall coffee jelly with no whipped cream OVER FLOWING with happiness~!

The barista told me that he didn't want to waste the coffee so he tried to fill the cup as much as he can :) Things like this make me happy~!

>_< and this wasn't the first time this happened to me! First it was "bubbatealiscious" now it's Starbucks! It's definitely a great month.

The guys from bubbatealiscious are super kind enough to let me drink from my milk tea before they put the lid on my cup so that they can put the left over milk tea from their shakers~!

YAY TO NO LEFT OVERS!!

Sulking... (Work Related Rant)

I'm not proud of it.. but I admit that I am!

There were 2 emails that got me very irritable this morning. First email I saw was an issue raised by a client... of course, I made a mistake that I didn't follow one document word per word but goodness... The issue is answered by another document that was approved and discussed so many times... they approved it! My mistake to think that the document THEY approved was good... GEEZ.. Make up your minds about the requirements!!!

The second email was about my vacation leaves, which was also approved last week.. BUT this morning... they took it all back... or at least 3 days out of 5 days...

It's frustrating... I got all excited about those 3 days and I was planning something with my boyfriend.. but everything went down the drain...

As if I can do something about any issues that would be raised...

At the moment.. I'm just trying to control my mood...

I Fight Back: Go Away Bullies

I used to spend 70% of my time in a breeding ground for bullies.. I wasn't really the main target of the bullying, but it wasn't something that I wanted to watch all day, so I left. I was a target earlier this year (which was partly the reason why I stopped posting during those times) however, I can defend myself against a bunch of immature people. I fight back...

I wasn't going to mention anything about this in my blog but I recently met someone who was also a target by a different group of bullies in the same hostile environment that we were in...

Contrary to common knowledge, there were more girl bullies in this hostile environment that I was in... and even the guy bullies acted like girl bullies..

Verbal abuse...

I won't go into details about how the bullying happened but I'll just quote some excerpts from some sites I've read. (The victim or the bully might relate to one or two statements.. hopefully) . Also I'll be focusing on girl bullies rather than guy bullies..

How do girls bully:
* Verbal assaults. Girls typically use verbal attacks (name-calling, gossip, insults, etc.) to target their victims. Sometimes these assaults take place in front of the victim. other times, they happen behind the victim's back.
* Exclusion. One of the most common ways that girls bully is by excluding the victim. Girls often form groups of similar social status and shun other girls who try to join. They either tell the victim to leave them alone or simply walk (or run) away without saying a word to the victim.
* Online attacks. Cyber bullying (online bullying) is becoming a common form of bullying, especially by girls. Cyber bullies use computers to send mean e-mails to their victims and through instant messaging, blogs, and chat rooms
* playing jokes or tricks designed to embarrass and humiliate
* being friends one week and then turning against a peer the next week with no incident or reason for the alienation

Other tactics:
Walk down the hallway and slam into a girl-the teacher thinks you're distracted!
Knock a girl's book off a desk-the teacher thinks it fell!
Write an anonymous note!
Draw a mean picture!
Roll your eyes!
Send an instant message with a new username!
Steal a boyfriend!
Start a rumor!
Tell the teacher she cheated!
"You step on their shoe. Oops! Sorry!"
"You walk past someone and you try to bump them. You say, 'Excuse you!'

WHY do girls bully:

They've learned the habit of bullying at home. Bullies often (but not always) come from homes where they are bullied or abused by their parents or older siblings. Bullying is a way for them to regain some of the control they have lost at home.
* They're insecure. In many cases, bullying is a cover-up for insecurity.A bully may be sensitive about her weight or the clothes she wears, and bullying other girls allows her to attack them before they attack her.
* They need to feel powerful. Girls who bully need to control and exert power over others. To make themselves seem more powerful, girl bullies often target girls who are passive, easily pushed around, or have very few friends. They often gang up on another girl to demonstrate their control.
* They want to get attention and be popular. Many girls bully to gain attention from their peers. They think that by being mean to others they will become more popular with the "cool" crowd. Unfortunately, this is often true, which makes bullying even more tempting to many girls.
* They have personal issues. Quite often, a girl may bully because she is having troubles at home or at school, which cause her to act out against other girls. Underneath her tough exterior, she is likely to be angry or depressed about other issues in her life
* Preserve or protect their friendships

* Retaliation for perceived slights
* Competition for attention from important people

Actually, even on my last day, I still received something that was made with the intent of humiliating me. I thought that was the last I'd hear about the bullying...

Bad manners

Why on earth do you have to suck LOUDLY on your braces every minute? It's disgusting!

Excited

I have only 4 more days til I leave my current company.

I don't understand how this company sucked the life out of my savings when in my previous company, I could afford to eat out every day or have a cup of coffee from starbucks every day. My salary here is a lot higher than before but I feel poorer. Only here in this company did I feel like I couldn't afford anything...

4 more days...

The person made a blog dedicated to the person he hates.  The irony.

Agile Methodology

For some weird reason, some higher being in the office decided to implement the Agile Methodology for the team that I am in. I hate it.. but there's nothing I can do about it at the moment. So rather than being spoiled and petty and pushing my personal issues on other people, I did some reading about it and looked for some way to make it work for me.

Apparently, most articles about the Agile Methodology is "developer" centric... bullshit! and most QA hate it. Articles that were from experiences of QA in an Agile environment say that test automation is the key to success in this methodology. In other words, the Agile methodology requires robots instead of real testers.

We can do test automation, how ever this may be a drawback for the company I am in. I see the hesitance of people on the management side to invest some time and effort to automate most tests. It is usually forgotten. Another drawback is that no one is knowledgable about the tool. It is easy to use as is but some knowledge of xpath, java script and other things would make the tool even more powerful if given the time and effort to learn them.

I still hate Agile testing... especially if the planning is done in a developer's mind set without any consideration on the load the QA gets...

I feel that the planners take the QA for granted... put in tasks, backlogs, stories in and add a few QA tasks for each just to say that the story has been tested to some extent.

Given the things I said, I still haven't found anything that could make my "Agile" testing life easier.

It's probably time for me to look for better management...
Time to update my resume~
Newskills to add:
1. Test Automation
2. Internet Banking
3. Agile Methodology <-- this might get me in trouble...

Tummy Tummy...

I really don't know what's happening to me. I have been trying to take care of myself more... but I seem to be so tired every weekend.. and my Tummy acts up every other day, it's either my hyperacidity or I get LBM.. or both.. I've been eating sandwiches for lunch and salads for breakfast. I try not to be too full or "busog" so my reflux won't be triggered...

I don't know what to do...

Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar~

More like Pizza from the Pizza box for me..

Some of my officemates from a different team had some pizza and they left some in our pantry, which is conveniently behind my workarea... The left overs were there for around 30 minutes and no one was brave enough to get a slice...

Fortunately~ The lights went out... at first I hesitated to get slice.. until the 2nd time the lights went out... Just when I was getting a slice for me and my seatmate... the lights were back T_T huhuhu I was caught in the act...

Just wanted to share.

Bracket Shmacket... TAX galore

When I received my paycheck, I was wondering why it wasn't as much as I get for the past few months... apparently... The company's considering our performance bonuses as a 14th month pay... GRRR. If we don't get the bonus, they'll refund the tax at the end of the year which means we'll be poorer for the rest of the year. Bracket Shmacket...

I found this site that helped me: Philippine Tax Table Bracket Tax Income

Sniffles Day 3: Not Working...

I've been drinking more than 8 glasses of water a day... and 2 bottles of apple juice or orange juice every morning hoping this water therapy thing would work... I've also been eating Chicken Congee every morning. I was expecting to have a runny nose because of all the liquids I've been drinking instead I have a clogged nose.

I actually feel more dehydrated and tired...
